November Report -

A brilliant ride to home hill, well conducted and the patron of the pub wants us back there.

Ride to Krazy and Jess’s place for beers and bbq, as his farewell to Kasper and Ral and to patch him up (Jess kept it a secret). He was over the moon.
Iit was a pleasure to patch up Krazy as he has put his heart and soul into the club and believes strongly in what the MB stands for and is looking forward to the Sec’s job in January.

On the MRA toy run we had a good turnout and have been invited back next year and any future runs the MRA have.

The Tully Times ran a full page spread on our Chapter at UN Day in Cardwell and I will send you down a copy of the page, also the Northern Courier (Army) ran a bit of a story on us as well only they called it Vietnam Vets Day but I guess the good intensions were there. The Townsville  Bulliten did a bit on us as well thanks to Krazy.

Myself,  Lowie and Feral will be doing courses next year as soon as I find out the dates,Lowie for Advocat and me for Welfare and Feral for either position.

Thats all for now and only 1 month to go. Big thanks to you guys down there for all the help as we have learned a lot up here. Huge welcome to the guys way over in the west, with this sort of help you wont have any problems.

Events

Townsville held it's Inaugural Formal Dining In on 21 Aug 2010.  An excellent turnout and a special thanks to our guest of honour, Mr David Turnbull OAM (NQ District RSL Advocate), and his wife Cheryl.  Not only an excellent 3 course dinner accompanied by some very good wine but the opportunity to acknowledge the effort and contribution of all in our first year and, in particular, the Nominees who were instrumental in organising the night under the guidance of Sierra Leader.  It aslo gave the Club the opportunity to raise those 3 Nominees to full Service Patch status and we wholeheatedly welcomed and congratulated Morrie, Marty and Junior.  The night was a great success and should anybody ever meet Junior ask him to recount his 'plea of mitigation' in defence of his 'Cokatoo Court' charge.  The 'court' was in stitches but father (Krazy) and mother (Jess) didn't know wether to laugh or cry.  Townsville is now in the process of an attempt to aquire suitable digs for a Veteran's Support Centre and although there are many administrative hoops all members of the Club are working hard to make it happen.
