Subject: townsville first ride
Townsville's first sunday ride

The first of Townsville's rides was held on Sunday 9/8/2009 from the club house to the anzac memorial club at AYR 8 bikes where there for the ride with 11 people with 2 traveling up from bowen and one member traveling down from cardwell with sparra a veitnam vet and his partner.
The ride begun on sat arvo for me from cardwell sparra and ryhia met up with me ( wobbly bob ) at cardwell to ride down and spend the night at the club house and stay there the night before the first of townsville's sunday rides , it was a great ride down to townsville good weather no cop's ,we arrived at the club house to be greeted by rocket and viv we all did the catch up bit over a few beers bfore some other members turned up then . after the others had to leave due to home commitments rocket fired up the B,B,Q and we settled in for a few more beer's .
Sunday morning all were excited about the day's ride as it was to be the first of many for townsville and to in on a first ride is allways a great feeling , as the members turned up all were greeted with pride of the brotherhood . and was good to see all where there before the depature time so e set of on time for Ayr and with a no worries ride we arrived at Ayr A N Z A C memorial club to be met by mel and di who had ridden up from bowen , we went in ( nice club ) all grabed a drink then we were all checking out the inside of the club as they have very much to see there on display,
after a beer we ordered lunch ( which was a bit of a wait for the food to come out but all was good. after saying see ya next time to mel and di we headed back to townsville . after a safe ride back escorted for 10 k's by the man in blue we arrived back for a club beer before calling it quits for the day.i must say thanks to the ride capt lowie well done mate.
